...I resolved to still pursue "it"...
Though "it" has torn me apart,
And has moulded me into someone I'm still trying to acquaint myself with...in vain.
I had set off to achieve "it" -
viewing it as the call of my soul,
and the drive of my intellect.
That being a time when I was in deep oneness with my being,
A time when the mind answered the call of the soul,
And vice versa.
Then arrived a stage in "it",
Purportedly to test the oneness,
I was so proud of.
The test is not over.
Nor have I given up.
The vagaries and longevity of this phase have,
however, rendered that oneness and everything associated with it - fragile.
The fragility c...

God blesses you with a family and friends are family He risks to let you choose.
I'm fortunate to be able to say that I found a midway out of God's conspiracy of sorts.
God blessed me with a wholesome family -
Parents as His representatives.
Grandparents to pamper.
A elder brother to fight with for the television remote.
And finally, an eldest sister to guide and mentor.
I, being the youngest one, was subject to the love of all of the above individuals through every single interaction with each of them. And these people and my interactions with them have played a pivotal role in shaping my life.
But, there always exists a shade of imperfection in the canvas o...
It is a sky borne firecracker seeking to be enkindled.
And once the light is in sight, The firecracker embarks on a spontaneous flight,
The illuminance of which breathes life into the darkest of dark nights.
It goes higher and higher and the heart leaps as high in unfounded amusement - it has been a long time since it has felt this way.
The firecracker of a mind is remarkably propelled further by the vicious glee of the heart.
Nobody warned it at the start.
Alas! The firecracker reaches the acme of the realm it ascended with astounding defiance, and ignorance of reality.
It is a brief high.
But, what now?
Now, the illu...
AN UNCONVENTIONAL TRAVEL,
AN UNPARALLELED EXPERIENCE.
Travel alone - and you’ll never return so.
The above statement represents a belief that took the below experience to firmly engrave itself in me.
Let me take as you as far as back in time as June, 2015. Yes, as recent as that. But some enthralling experiences seem surreal and long gone as early as the very next moment – especially when it is the first trip you’ve planned all by yourself with your best friend. What adds to the excitement is the fact that the seeds of trip that is to last from the night of the 6th of June until the morning of the 11th of the same month – begins only on the 5th! All of this when this is your first inde...
IKTARA (ONE STAR).
Let me tell you a story of a fool,
From when he was in elementary school.
His teacher used to give him homework aplenty,
She said - write down numericals from one to twenty.
He had less interest in numbers from one to twenty,
But more so in the 'stars' he would earn from his teacher had he completed his homework neatly.
But one habit of his teacher troubled his efforts,
He never got five out of five stars for sacrificing all his dear comforts.
He requested of his teacher to explain to him the reason for this treachery.
He got another four starrer for an answer.
He decided to not let go of that one remaining star,
It was worth to him more than his favourite...
RIGHT SIDE OF THE COMMA.
A poor mother's labour gives birth to a poor labourer.
For his bread and butter,
Labours in a myriad ways.
He builds, we savour.
He cleans, we are healthy.
He sweats in mines, we rejoice in air conditioning.
He fixes our roads, we drive our swanky automobiles.
He produces, we consume.
He toils, we cherish the spoils.
Our lives flourish at the cost of his wishes.
He works and we are respected.
His only curse - poverty.
Doesn't he once deserve to be on the ' right side of the comma '?
On this International Labour Day, let's indulge in a show of kindness, empathy and respect towards the people who make our lives better in ways that we cannot imag...
This letter is addressed to all the people whom I've known, partially known or not known at all but have had some form of communication with on Lettrs in the last couple of weeks that I've been on this platform.
Firstly, I'd like to thank Ayu (Yush) for introducing me to this platform and continually encouraging me to write my heart out. Thank you so much Ayu.☺ I'd also like to congratulate her on being the 'Featured Writer' for the first edition of the Earth Day theme writing.☺
Secondly, I'd like to say that it is an amazingly special feeling to be declared the 'Featured Writer' for the coming week on the basis of my very first open letter on the platform.☺
The fear of losing.
The fear of maintaining a victorious run.
The fear of low grades.
The fear of life's thorny blades.
The fear of weaknesses.
The fear that God rarely blesses.
The fear of falling in love.
The fear of saying those magical words.
The fear of losing someone.
The fear of not being the lucky one.
The fear of failure.
The fear of a dead end.
The fear of the boss.
The fear of not being the boss.
The fear of a challenge like dare.
The fear of grey hair.
The fear of dying someday.
The fear of living today.
Give us a chance and we'll fear.
Give us an opportunity and dare we hope.
Fear comes in forms hundred.
But the i...
A VACATION TO BLISS.
I'm a '90's product. A decade in which we were still looking nervously at the various prospects and the nuances of technology. A decade during which it took centuries to load a basic webpage. A decade that led us to this decade where technology is literally at the tip of my fingers as I type out this letter.
I type out this letter in order to take myself to a vacation back to my childhood wherein the infestation of technology was almost zero. And electricity, well, let's just say that technology is what we pretty much use it for today. And also to run our air conditioners and fans...I consider myself fortunate to proclaim that my childhood didn't require the...
Yesterday, a tragedy struck.
Many a concrete structures the earth did suck.
But, that was not all the bad luck.
Under the concrete - what got trampled and choked was -
A thousand odd human souls, People who'd woken up on a Saturday morning probably rejoicing the weekend just as we, spared by the tragedy, did.
The calamity did not only end the lives of a thousand odd people,
But also ruined a thousand odd families.
This be a humble prayer to the Supreme Force (if there does exist one):
May the souls of the departed rest away from the pain they suffered and may the pain of their families be a stark reminder for us to mend our ways.
- To all the people/fami...
ONE FORM - MANY FORMS.
Form, for a sportsperson - is a state of mind.
A form, for a student - is an exam application/institutional admission application form.
A form, for the creation of the Almighty - is representative of the nature of our existence.
A form - for the human belief system - is a manifestation of ' the One ' whom we so passionately revere and worship.
Form is an order in the military.
Form is the shell in which our emotions and behaviour are so soothingly nested.
Form is a form of energy.
Form is variety.
It is these varied forms of every form that add to the beauty and diversity of our world and so furiously fan our curiosity - a burning desire tha...
