#SKYLARK CHALLENGE -
Questions answered

WHAT IS THE SKYLARK CHALLENGE?
A weekly writing prompt that usually includes 4 carefully chosen words and a photo - except on occasions when it's a special challenge, known as a #SKYLARK SPECTACULAR! - like when we celebrated our 200th prompt and I created a very special set of prompts - with prizes!! But this doesn't happen normally.

WHAT ARE THE RULES?
• Use ALL 4 words exactly as they are written, but in any order you wish

•  Using the photo is optional (unless specified).

• Write in any style, about any topic; of any length and genre.

* Use an alternative photo if you want, and have fun! (Don't forgot to acknowledge the photographer though!)...

Dear Lady Skylark - Becca🐦,

Sorry for the delayed reply! I just read your letter. I never expected to even write a story so phew. It was definitely inspired from the show Dark that I was watching. She put the stamp on the letter and left it there because she didn't really want to deliver ...or she probably didn't know whom to send it to. A man eerily similar to her grandfather hanging out with his family was probably a great coincidence or... the woman probably stumbled up in the past somehow. That's up to you. I obviously did a horrible job at conveying these things. I'm just not good at keeping things short. But I did my best. Thank you so much for reading and giving me feedback, and for t...

Dear Lady Skylark - Becca🐦,

Thank you so much for critiquing my work. I really love to hear feedback. It’s not really about winning a prize for me, I do it because writing saves my life everyday. I don’t have much in this life but I do have my words. I appreciate this letter so much. I love reading people’s stories and I see people reading mine. It’s a give and take action that keeps the world turning. I will try to improve on writing too.

Thank you.

Kristeen

Dear Lady Skylark,

Thank you for writing to me!

I'm so thrilled and honored to receive your letter and the announcement that I have been awarded the Third Place in the 200th Skylark Challenge!! 🥳✨🎉🎊

I have been waiting in quiet anticipation for the announcements, albeit nervously, because I have been super excited since you sent out the prompt for the contest.

As an artist and lover of art, I couldn't help but set my eyes on the prizes! Honestly I wish I could have done better to win the art piece. I absolutely loved the color scheme, the abstract background, the Skylark and the beautiful haiku that goes along.

Nevertheless, I'm happy with the verdict and look forward to the goodies! 😍✨...

Dear Lady Skylark - Becca🐦,

Thank you so much Becca. I feel like I'm floating on cloud nine right now! Winning the challenge was really beyond expectation after reading other amazing stories by people. I am soooooooooo happy.

The feedbacks are another thing that am grateful for. I too thought in the second entry I'm being a little forceful with the words, but the idea was stuck in my mind and I just had to write it down. I'll give it another try, and see if I can do more justice to it.

As for the first entry Becca, I think I couldn't convey it properly, so I'll improve in that also.

Still I'd like to tell you what I intended in the story, and you might then be able to help me how I could ...

I write on a 5 year old tablet with a dodgy battery and internet connection which hasn't got the capacity to download checkers and counters so when I've saved up for a new one watch me shine.!🌠🌠🌠
I hope you have a restful and happy holiday and thank you so much.

#WeeklyChallenge

Words to be used:
* SWIMMING
* PAINTING
* MARBLE

She had been SWIMMING against the tide for as long as she could remember.
Unwanted by her teenage mother from the point of conception, she had learnt that life could be unfair.

The fortunate ones, with their fairy-tale ideology and a perfect start on their side, would liken life to a PAINTING with so much "hidden beauty" within it to live for. But this only ever sounded fatuous and jejune to Charlotte - and she never missed an opportunity to tell these know-it-alls, it was so - though it was in a far more offensive and rebellious manner!

Charlotte was now thirteen - the age her mother was when she finally gave her up ...
