   I've come to accept
   That the monstress
   Under the bed
   Is neither
   Friend nor foe
   But a manifestation
   Of who
   I've been hiding from
   All of my life.               JD

     All things
     Must come to an end,
     And all things
     Must start anew.
     The summer ends
     As we cycle through.
     Trees change color
     And litter the ground,
     Leaving empty forests
     And threadbare hearts.
     We end, yet we begin,
     Because we start over
     After summer,
     As we shed
     What has changed,
Bury our past in the cold,
     And set ourselves
     To flourish again
     Come spring.              JD

   I search the silence
   For my beloved
   But no matter
   Which way I turn
   In this deadly maze
   I am forced to stop
   So I cannot reach her
   As she cries out
   From the darkness.    JD

   Your vicious words
   Were an unprovoked
